• How did you end up in this position? Did you always want to work in IT?

Since childhood I have enjoyed computer graphics and a web page design, but I have never considered studying IT. I decided to pursue my degree in finance instead and a few years later I realized that it wasn’t for me. So, when applying for my first internship, I mostly considered project management opportunities, which appealed to me a lot. And that is how my career journey at Bosch began. I landed a position at the Project Management Office (PMO) where I supported different IT projects. This valuable experience helped me realize how fascinating the IT world is.

• What motivates or inspires you in your current role?

Working in innovations drives me the most! I simply love the feeling that projects I work on enhance someone’s quality of life.

• What has been a lesson you've learned while working for Bosch, Poland? Do you have any advice for those who would love to join our company?

One of the lessons I keep in mind is that your development greatly depends on the people around. Therefore, be sure that you are surrounded by people who believe in you and recognize your potential. When joining Bosch Poland, I was so lucky to have my first supervisor being really supportive to me and my colleagues. She always pushed us forward, believing in us from the very start. Such an attitude boosted my confidence and I found my dream career path in IT! If I were to give any advice to people searching for advancement opportunities, I would say, ‘Don’t be afraid to work in IT’. IT projects may seem ‘geeky’ at first, but in addition to programming the IT field requires many different skills including management and creativity. If you sparkle with curiosity and are eager to learn new things, you will find a suitable position at Bosch

• How did you end up in this position? Did you always want to work in IT?

I joined Bosch as a SAP Order to Cash Consultant. And over the past four years I have worked as a Functional Consultant, a Project Manager, a Scrum Master and a Product Owner. So, my professional journey entails lots of learning, exploring and seeing the company through different lenses. All these years I have been exercising a Systems Engineer profession and I am really happy for an opportunity to explore the broad spectrum of it.

• What motivates or inspires you in your current role?

Currently my main focus lies on raising awareness of the organizational agility. I support the agile team and organizational development and build strong product base as a Product Owner. Due to the hands-on experience and a strong gut feeling I am more than sure this is the right IT management stream for me to master my skills.

• What has been a lesson you've learned while working for Bosch, Poland? Do you have any advice for those who would love to join our company?

The most valuable lesson I’ve learned is how to bridge the gap between people with diverse backgrounds and business roles at such a global company and it comes up as a daily challenge.

Though sharing similar values and professional standards, we pursue different goals, harbour prejudices and don’t think alike. Sometimes it requires patience and commitment to reach a common understanding along our professional journey.

• How did you end up in this position? Did you always want to work in IT?

After more than 14 years of working as a university lecturer of economics with a PhD, I felt that it was high time to change jobs. As my previous scientific and business projects were related to market and consumer research, I started looking for a job in this area. It was at Robert Bosch Poland that a UX department was created. Since I had a positive experience with this company in the past, during my internships as a student, I decided to apply for the position of a UX Researcher. It’s been three years since I started working in this role. Honestly, I never really thought about working in IT. It happened naturally as the majority of the commercial projects that I had carried out were largely related to the IT industry. And as a researcher, I found my place here.

• What motivates or inspires you in your current role?

What inspires me the most is the teamwork we have in our international environment ‘without borders’. As well as the task diversification, the empowerment and great flexibility we are given for the project implementation.

• What has been a lesson you've learned while working for Bosch, Poland? Do you have any advice for those who would love to join our company?

The lesson I keep learning is about expanding my possibilities and enhancing my competences as well as sharing knowledge and learning from others in our culturally diverse work environment, which is a great asset. As a company, Bosch embraces changes with open arms. So, whether you have work experience in an international corporation or not, it is a good place to make a successful career.

• How did you end up in this position? Did you always want to work in IT?

10 years ago I would call myself a ‘finance’ guy. I worked as a Supply Chain Finance Manager with the prior experience in audit. However, I have always had IT on my mind. So, when the opportunity turned up, I joined the SAP implementation project. Over the time I exited the Consultant position and got promoted to the managerial roles.

• What motivates or inspires you in your current role?

My team is my biggest motivation.

• What has been a lesson you've learned while working for Bosch, Poland? Do you have any advice for those who would love to join our company?

At Bosch it is either a team or a colleague who will always be by your side and can help you to resolve possible issues. Such team spirit is not easy to find. So, if you are a team player and willing to cooperate - just apply.

• How did you end up in this position? Did you always want to work in IT?

I have always known that IT will be my world. I started as a software developer, but after 14 years of being in this role I thought, ‘It is high time to welcome changes in my life!’ I wanted to face new challenges, try something different within the realm of the IT field. And here I’m, a Manager of the software development team at Bosch.

• What motivates or inspires you in your current role?

Every day I finish my work with a feeling that I have learned something new. At such a big company like Bosch, there are so many doors to open, so many opportunities to seize, so many fields to explore. And this is one of the factors that motivates me the most. The other factor is my team mates! I really enjoy working with the people here and I am proud to have a fantastic and reliable team.

• What has been a lesson you've learned while working for Bosch, Poland? Do you have any advice for those who would love to join our company?

I was pleasantly impressed with the Bosch corporate culture – especially Bosch Poland. People are really open here, you can have a voice and discuss any subjects ‘under the sun’, there is no pressure on you, you can maintain a healthy work-life balance. These are the advantages that really make a difference to me – they are easy to fall in love with but hard to let go.

• How did you end up in this position? Did you always want to work in IT?

I studied Banking and International Finance, but I have always dreamt of connecting the world of business with IT. After graduation I worked for a long time for a company which implemented IT solutions for polish hospitals. There I worked my way up from an Implementer to a Business Analyst and, finally, to a Project Manager.

• What motivates or inspires you in your current role?

On the one hand, working with other people towards the same goal is definitely a great source of inspiration to me. On the other hand, it is a clear understanding that we enhance the quality of life for others by providing customized software solutions.

• What has been a lesson you've learned while working for Bosch, Poland? Do you have any advice for those who would love to join our company?

The lesson I’ve learned at Bosch is to not be afraid of asking questions. Bosch is a big company with lots of cross-functional and cross-divisional processes involved. If you want to know how these processes work in different departments or locations, feel free to ask questions.

• How did you end up in this position? Did you always want to work in IT?

The moment I entered the university I got an aspiration to work in IT. At that time there were many ways to follow - networks, programming and whatnot. However, in the course of time I realized that software development appealed to me a lot, therefore I joined Bosch as a developer. I started as a back-end programmer specializing in Java and soon I took up the front-end duties as I wanted to exceed the scope of my responsibilities and undertake interesting projects. Now I am quite savvy at both back-end and front-end tasks.

• What motivates or inspires you in your current role?

I hate boredom! Working for Bosch opens doors to endless possibilities and allows to carry out various duties. Besides writing code, I have managed projects, delivered presentations and even tried my hand at being a Scrum Master. And it is all within your grasp! That is a great advantage of working for Bosch. Additionally, what inspires me in my current role is creating something from scratch. We have built multiple systems for tax, production, purchasing and other needs and it has given us a high potential for learning.

• What has been a lesson you've learned while working for Bosch, Poland? Do you have any advice for those who would love to join our company?

I have learnt that this company opens up a ‘world of opportunities’. All you need is to grasp them. You may learn and grow with Bosch in different areas. Another advantage is that this company places a special emphasis on the teamwork and collaboration. I used to work in different teams prior to joining Bosch. And here, I must admit, teamwork, collaboration and communication are much more important than anywhere else.

• How did you end up in this position? Did you always want to work in IT?

I started my career in the supply chain management where I worked as a junior project manager for 5 years. I wanted to develop my project management skills further and was looking for new ambitious projects to embark on. I knew that IT is the future. Being at the stage of expIoring the IT field, I decided to be brave and give it a try. I applied for the development program in IT and successfully passed a few stages of the selection process. During the assignment, I spent 1,5 years working for a few IT departments both in Poland and Germany. When my assignment was over, I took over the position of an IT project manager in Warsaw. Having been more than a year in my role, I am proud to say I’ve actually been doing well and I enjoy leading my IT projects.

• What motivates or inspires you in your current role?

Each project is about transforming an ingenious business idea into reality. I like the fact that I can facilitate this process by setting up the framing and alignment – distributing roles, setting deadlines, identifying lacks and obstacles– and support my project team, collaborate so that together we can reach any goal we establish.

• What has been a lesson you’ve learned while working for Bosch, Poland? Do you have any advice for those who would love to join our company?

And Bosch opened up this opportunity for me. So, the lesson I’ve learned is that everything is possible if you’re really committed to a goal and you demonstrate it to others. My advice for all the candidates would be the following: be brave and don’t allow anything to limit you. Define your direction and don’t hesitate to take the first step!
